Pat contacted California Closets to see what we could do to create some organization in their vacation home mudroom in Sharon, CT.
Since this home is their relaxing haven from their full-time NYC home, the mudroom is the perfect spot for recreational items like golf and tennis equipment. Pat and her husband Tom really wanted to have not only some more order to the room, but a visually pleasing design as well.
I met with Pat in early May to discuss storage needs and design ideas. Within a couple hours, we had worked together to create not only a functional design, but one that would mesh well with the style of the home.
The design featured “locker”-type cabinetry with carefully measured spaces for the golf bags and shoes. Hooks were added for tennis rackets, and a window seat with drawers was incorporated for storing tennis and golf balls.
A tall cabinet was also added for storing some cleaning and supply items that Pat wanted to move out of the pantry. The design was done in white with brushed chrome hardware for a simple, bright, and clean look.
When I arrived to photograph the work shortly after the installation wrapped up, Pat was thrilled with the space and the work of the installer. Pat mentioned how “friendly and tidy” the installer was and how great the room looked.
Pat’s dog Callie also loved the space, and the camera!
Take a look at the pictures and let us know what you think! It’s an inspiring design for a Father’s Day gift, isn’t it?
