Before & After: Clif’s New Reach-In Closet (+ Time Lapse Video)

Clif and Jeff were frustrated with the lack of organization their wire hanging closet system provided. Plus: the metal system was noisy!

At the California Closets corporate office, Clif Windecker, our director of marketing technology, was frustrated with his closet.

The main problem? Disorganization.

The wire system Clif had in his reach-in closet didn’t compartmentalize anything. So, as a result, his wardrobe seemed like it was all over the place.

And because the system was a basic wire design, using it was noisy! Drawers had no back and hit the wall when they were closed, metal banged on metal, and so on.

The look was nothing to write home about either. Truth be told, it was an eyesore. Both Clif and his partner Jeff, who’s the Armani Specialist for Nordstrom San Francisco, wanted a solution that was more fashionable, but also very functional.

They worked with Heather Bishop at our California Closets Berkeley location to design a system that utilized the space better, providing much needed hanging space.

Additional features like soft-closet drawers (no more noise), extrusion handles (gorgeous to behold and easy to grasp), and a signature pole (specialized hanging rod with concave sides and a vinyl cover – very quiet!) created a fully functional and practical closet design.

The sophisticated Venetian Wenge finish and flat panel drawers with extruded aluminum handles resulted in a beautiful comtemporary look.

How does Clif feel about his custom closet now?

“Need. Want. Love. Seriously.”

Take a look at our time-lapse video and before and after photos to see his reach-in closet transformation!

Before:

Clif’s reach-in closet was lacking a system that would keep his wardrobe organized and accessible:

There was also no sense of style or design aesthetic:

The closet functioned on a very basic level, but was frustrating to live with and definitely not pleasing to the eye:

After:

His new California Closets is both practical and sophisticated – it brings a whole new look to the room:

Note how the hanging space on the sides, with the tie racks, optimize the space without creating a cluttered look:

Perfectly-spaced shelving and drawers keep Clif’s and Jeff’s pieces neat and easy to access:
