Ginny’s Faves from #ADShow2012
We’ll be posting more about the trends we saw on display at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show, but I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite items that caught my eye!
The common theme is one of using texture and light to add visual interest and style to your home.
I snapped some pictures with my iPad of my favorite examples. Let me know what you think – do you like these design elements as much as I do?
My Six Favorites
I loved how the designers brought in fashion inspiration in the form of the red leather belts on this modern side table:
This glass countertop with changeable, colored LED lights would make a splash in a bold, contemporary kitchen or in a commercial space:
These sparkly lighting elements caught my eye from across the room. Whimsical and elegant. I want these for my office!
Textured accents were a big theme at the show. I loved these soft, feathered wall hangings which added color and texture to the room.
More feathers! As part of the Dining by Design exhibit, this chandelier stood out for its unique use of texture, modern lines and soft lighting.
One of the design trends I really love is the technique of creating texture through varying heights and depths. This dresser is a great example of how asymmetrical design with differing depths can add visual interest to a standard piece of bedroom furniture.
So those were my favorites! If you liked these too, tell me in the comments and share with your friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc!
