Home Cooking on the Ranch: A Singer’s Custom Pantry
But design consultant Tanya Roberts also designed custom storage in another very important part of the house: The kitchen!
A Pantry for Home Cooking
With a new baby on the way, mom was in nesting mode. She was cutting back on her travel schedule for a while and was spending more time at the ranch. She and her husband knew that once the baby came, they would be spending a lot more time at home with their new baby and family visitors.
So it was important that the kitchen and pantry design optimize the space they had available with smart organization for cabinets, appliances, cooking tools, and non-perishable foods.
The couple knew that a new addition to the family would add a completely different element to their lifestyle, so everything needed to be organized with simplicity and accessibility in mind.
Smart Design for a Small Space
The ClosetCAD drawing of their pantry design shows illustrates the functional setup: shelving, baskets, a vertical cabinet and hooks on the wall.
Mops, brooms and cleaning supplies were stored separately from food in a vertical cabinet. Tanya incorporated slide-out baskets as a way to organize some of the fresh food and smaller items such as potatoes and onions. There were a couple of pull-out shelves to help quickly see and access the canned goods.
The celebrity client kept the color palette in the same theme as the rest of the closets, a soft Ivory finish with oil rubbed bronze accents.
What do you think of her custom pantry?
Our celebrity client loved the pantry and was pleasantly surprised by how much she could fit into a small space!
